The Wedding Story
Peter Ireland, manager of The Malibu Nature Preserve, generously allowed us to transform the former horse arena with it’s amazing ocean view into a wedding site. The challenge was to make the huge area ours. We made it happen by placing a lounge area with white sofas on one side connecting tent and the border of the property towards the ocean. The lighting help tie it all in. (Of course we didn’t tell anybody of the sand flea drama – we had to spray every inch of the area the night before) Lucky for the photographer Leslie, who was rolling in the dirt to get some unusual shots.
The view was spectacular especially from the lounge area in front of the tent.
Local Malibu Party Rents delivered white cotton sofas for a friendly price, Elm Concierge constructed the tent for 250 guests and brought in the llghting designer, who was hanging under tent with his guys for a couple hours..
The Bruchetta bar deliciously organic while the wine was from a local vineyard and brought in by the couple’s parents.
DIY
Stephanie and her mom made the escort cards, bright paper flowers on long stems holding the cards. Guests actually hurried to take bunches of them home.
Uptown supplied their shiny metal bathrooms, it was powered by a bio diesel generator which was also used for the DJ and lighting.
From happy sunlight to saturated sunset colors into the star spangled night.. nature gave us a great show.
