The Wedding Story
Two days before Blake&Stephen’s wedding we installed a dance floor on top of the pool and a platform for the cake temple on the Jacuzzi…
The rehearsal dinner was set in scene at the Eco Station in LA, it was one of the first rehearsal dinners inviting food trucks. Most of the party decor of the small jungle creatures’ place was made from left overs and donations of former events from glass containers artfully filled with beads, chains, old cell phones or brushes and crayons to candles in tomato cans…
Fun flower decor planning at eco cool Dandelion in LA.
We pretty much rocked the green:
- Gingham linens were purchased and sold to one of my other couples
- we rented polished wood of rustic picnic tables with matching benches
- centerpieces were organic fruits and veggies with wild flowers
- the basket were donated to homes for the elderly
- the house was a treasure chest for usable items: I found dozens of baskets, cushions and candle holders and hundreds of flowery plates for the cake…
- we used bio degradable cutlery and dinner ware from Verterra
- the paper napkins were made from recycled paper
- we rented recycling trash containers
- the menu consisted of various organic street food stations by “Bite catering”
- guests found their way via an artist friend’s maps printed on recycled paper tied with certified “pure” dyed organic cotton ribbons
- and the hand painted, white washed signs on recycled wood
- a friend donated several hundred tiny bottles of Blake’s favorite hot sauce, which became her cute and personal favor
- the owner of a small sun screen business brought organic sun screen for everybody to take home
- Blake’s wedding dress was an out-of-the-box Bohemian dream by Les Habitudes. Not eco but wearable on other occasions in the future
The waiters in blue apron and slim blue ties matching our Gingham design looked snazzy, the farmer’s market fresh and organic street food from Bite catering was delish, the shiny espresso bar even had organic creamers, “Zebra’s” entertainers strolling through the crowd were quirky fun and our band PCH played perfect tunes from the roof terrace followed by a zany DJ Blass L. at night. While Blake rocked a song with PCH, Stephen loved telling stories on the dance floor.
Our Bel Air county fair saw fun fashion, cool hats and casual designer wear. Hollywood actors, “industry” couples, artists, family and friends mingled and danced from the afternoon into the late night; free people style.
As Blake did a lot of acting from Star troopers to Criminal Minds and Stephen is a well known Hollywood producer we had several celebs in the crowd.
